West Ham United Foundation (WHUF) is seeking a Senior Education Officer: Secondary Schools to lead on the delivery of WHUF’s secondary school programmes.
The post-holder will support the delivery of our education themes of work, helping to create meaningful opportunities and pathways for young people aged 11 – 18 years old. The Senior Education Officer will initially act as the lead for our Premier League Inspires (PLI) and Fair Play programmes working across secondary schools, alternative provision and community settings in east London and Essex.
The successful candidate will have a proven ability to plan, deliver and evaluate effective interventions for young people and manage projects effectively. They will have a commitment to improving the lives of young people and working within a diverse community. They will be able to operate both as a mentor and educator to support local young people through our programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Education Manager, the Senior Education Officer will:
* Act as the PLI and Fair Play programme lead and manage operational delivery.
* Deliver group interventions, one to one support, and events.
* Engage with young people in a meaningful and impactful ways in Secondary Schools and community settings across East London and Essex.
* Develop and build school relationships, expanding and growing our delivery model.
* Contribute to the wider development of the WHU Foundation.
Other Responsibilities:
* Quality assurance of PLI and Fair Play programme.
* Attend PLCF conferences, meetings & training.
* Plan and deliver sessions that engage and inspire learners.
* Engage positively with vulnerable and at-risk young people.
* Monitor and record young people’s engagement using the CRM system/s.
* Complete all Risk Assessment procedures using the internal systems.
* Lead the design of secondary school programme sessions and workshops.
* Support the recruitment of secondary schools to the programmes.
* Manage staff delivery on the programme ensuring all staff receive inductions, training, and support.
* To develop and manage professional relationships with stakeholders.
* Support the delivery of a high quality, safe and to specification programme for WHUF.
* To understand and manage own performance against contractual KPIs.
* To work with the wider Education department to support the development of other programmes where applicable.
* To work with the Education Manager to identify areas of growth for the PL Inspires programme.
* To act as the lead for any new secondary school programmes delivered by WHUF.
* Any other duties as reasonably requested by the line manager / organisation.

- Educated to Degree level in relevant subject and/or Youth Work qualification – L2 or above (E)
- Level 2 NGB Sports Qualification (In any sport) (E)
- Mental Health First Aider (D)
- Mentoring L2 or above (D)
- Proven experience of successful project/programme management (E)
- Proven achievement of KPIs that include positive outcomes (E)
- Experience of working within diverse communities (E).
