Job summary 

 

This is a new exciting opportunity to become part of the growing CRM & Data team at London Premier League Club – West Ham United. The club is seeking an ambitious individual, willing to learn and provide data-driven analysis, working across multiple teams to help drive business decisions and achieve the club’s objectives.

 

Our successful candidate will report into the CRM & Data Lead and will play a key role in supporting the data team, supporting the delivery of analysis to facilitate key business decisions and influence marketing strategies.

 

This is a great opportunity for an analyst with great technical skills that is looking to take the next step in their career, to work in a challenging and dynamic environment, to deliver analysis in a professional sports setting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

*       Responsible for providing actionable insights on fan behaviour analysis, optimising ticketing/retail revenues, and driving segmentation strategies.

 

*       Provide frequent, high quality and actionable data insights and reports.

 

*       Working closely with our data partner agency to ensure all data is inputted effectively and its use maximised.

 

*       Championing the use of data across the business, as an ambassador for its benefits, ensuring all departments are inputting correctly.

 

*       Create accessible, relevant, and actionable reports and dashboards, using multiple data sources.

 

*       Work collaboratively with internal departments, including but not limited to, ticketing, retail, partnerships, and website, to achieve collective business goals

 

*       Develop relationships with key stakeholders and an understanding of their business areas, to drive relevant insights and recommendations.

 

*       Runs ad-hoc data analysis upon request from the marketing team but also the wider organisation.

 

*       Assist with the development of the data strategy of WHUFC.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas: - Essential (E) Desirable (D)

 

Education/Qualifications/Experience:

 

*        Bachelor’s degree in a STEM subject, Computer Science, Economics, Business, Marketing, or similar, with provable numerate and quantitative skills. (E)

 

*        Previous experience in an analytical/ data science role (E)

 

*        Will consider candidates with fewer years of professional experience, if they can prove fit with technical and general skills, and track record in setting and achieving ambitious goals

 

*        Experience in interrogating data and building reports, using one or more of the following tools: Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, SQL, Python, and/or R.

 

*        Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint & Excel. Knowledge of VLOOKUPS, pivot tables, & comfort working with large datasets important.

 

*        Experience working in a similar role with CRM platforms, in either the client or agency side. (D)

 

*        Proven capability to manage and interpret large quantities of data. (D)

 

*        Experience of managing data and statistical analysis (D)

 

*        Knowledge of propensity modelling techniques, cluster analysis, churn analysis, and calculation of lifetime profitability scenarios (D)

 

*        Familiar across SEO, Google Analytics, and digital platforms. (D)

 

*        Experience of Salesforce products including Marketing Cloud  (D)

 

*        1-2+ years’ experience utilising Tableau to drive actions & decision making. (D)

 

*        Experience working and communicating in a sporting environment is a plus. (D)
