West Ham United’s Award winning Foundation was set up in 1990 and is now one of the largest and most respected schemes in England. West Ham United is Moore than a Football Club and its entire brand focuses on the clubs role at the heart of its community. The function of this department and the services delivered by it are therefore of paramount importance to the club. The scheme is based at a purpose built site in Beckton, London E6. The site comprises a full size all weather pitch with changing facilities and office accommodation. The scheme enjoys charitable status. The department are responsible for developing a strategic vision for the West Ham United Foundation in line with its charitable objectives and the vision of West Ham United Football Club. The team initiate and build relationships with key contacts, including local authorities, funding partners, sponsors and the Football Foundation. They are responsible for the effective delivery of all services offered by the football club including coaching and mentoring as well as effective integrations with governing body schemes. Community delivery is an expanding area within football as football clubs like many of the world’s leading brands focus more on their CSR activity and giving back to the community that the clubs serve.
